										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Association of Coloproctology of GB &amp; Ireland (ACPGBI)  invites surgeons who have passed the third part Intercollegiate exam with colorectal surgery as their declared subspecialty interest  since July 2017 to an awards  presentation on Tuesday, 10<sup>th</sup> July 2018 at 14:15-14:45 during the 2018 ACPGBI Annual Meeting.</p>

<p>Once again many of our colleagues have kindly agreed to Chair the discussion panels and we are looking forward to another lively and interesting day!</p>
<p>In order to enable as many people to attend the symposium we have been able to make 40 free places available. These are on a first-come-first-served basis.</p>
<p>In addition, for the rest of the places we are only charging a flat rate fee of £85 which covers the cost of the central London venue and catering only.</p>

It is aimed at the surgical trainee who has experience of laparoscopic cholecystectomy and appendicectomy but wants to develop more advanced dissection, stapling and suturing skills used in laparoscopic upper GI, colorectal and urological procedures.<br />
The course will comprise of Lectures and practical sessions covering Laparoscopic Suturing &amp; Knot Tying, Mesenteric Dissection, Haemostasis, Fundoplication, Stapled Anastomosis, Live Operating of Fundoplication and Gastric Bypass.<br />
A high delegate to trainer ratio will ensure candidates are able to develop the appropriate skills according to their level of training and chosen specialty.</p>

<p>This promises to be a major event for doctors and allied health professionals. It is a three day meeting that reflects the increasing recognition that pelvic floor problems and incontinence require an integrated multidisciplinary approach.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We are pleased to invite applications for the <strong>FREE</strong> Cook Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Course to be held as part of the weekend on Friday 20<sup>th</sup> April 2018.</p>
<p>There are 16 places available, and we are keen to optimise the experience for those most likely to benefit. Therefore preference will be given to ST6+ trainees. Due to the expected high demand for places, we are inviting applications including the following:</p>
<ol>
<li>Statement of 150 words indicating why you should be selected</li>
<li>2-page CV</li>
<li>Associate ACPGBI (Dukes’) membership number.</li>
</ol>
