Prospective snapshot audit and retrospective analysis of ileostomy closure following anterior resection for rectal cancer

Aim: to investigate time to ileostomy closure in the UK and identify reasons for delays

A team of two trainees and a consultant required from each participating centre to contribute to either/both study components:

  1. Retrospective arm: review records from a historical 12-month period to calculate time to closure and incidence of non-closure
  2. Prospective arm: collect data over a 3-month period from April 2018 on patients undergoing ileostomy closure

]]> 281 ACPGBI/The Dukes’ Club Fellowship 2017 https://www.thedukesclub.org.uk/2017/02/06/acpgbithe-dukes-club-fellowship-2017/ Mon, 06 Feb 2017 14:40:17 +0000 https://www.thedukesclub.org.uk/?p=476 The ACPGBI/The Dukes’ Club Travelling fellowship is intended to allow senior colorectal trainees (ST 7 or above) to visit a colorectal unit overseas in order to enhance their training and increase exposure within their subspecialist area of interest.

A written report will be required on completion of the fellowship, and a presentation of the fellowship will be expected at the Dukes’ Club session of the ACPGBI Annual Meeting. Applicants must be members of ACPGBI to be considered for this Fellowship.

A total of 4 fellowships may be awarded for 2017, each up to a maximum of £2,500.
