Followed by intensive hands on surgical dissection using fresh frozen cadavers includes: laparoscopic gastric mobilisation\, thorascopic oesophagostomy open cervical exploration and anastomosis\, the use of hand ports and laparoscopic subtotal gastrectomy.

DESCRIPTION:ST7 to ST8 with an interest in pelvic floor dysfunction \n \nThe course is designed for hands-on practice on Thiel cadavers. Each sessions will be preceded by talks and video presentations followed by cadaveric practical session and demonstration. \nThis will cover the curriculum that The Pelvic Floor Society developed for those with a special interest in pelvic floor disorders (available on their website) as the courses link together as modules. DESCRIPTION:Suitable for FY2 – ST2 trainees who have successfully completed a RCS Basic Surgical Skills course. \n \nThis one day workshop provides exposure to the theoretical principles and practical techniques of gastrointestinal anastomosis. It gives an opportunity to perform a variety of surgical procedures on tissue models with modern anastomotic technologies under the guidance of Consultant Surgeons\, with a high trainer to trainee ratio. It then places these techniques within the context of surgical practice and identifies clinical situations where a deeper knowledge of these relevant aspects leads to improved peri-operative care.
