CLOSureE of Ileostomy Timing Study
Prospective snapshot audit and retrospective analysis of ileostomy closure following anterior resection for rectal cancer
Aim: to investigate time to ileostomy closure in the UK and identify reasons for delays
A team of two trainees and a consultant required from each participating centre to contribute to either/both study components:
- Retrospective arm: review records from a historical 12-month period to calculate time to closure and incidence of non-closure
- Prospective arm: collect data over a 3-month period from April 2018 on patients undergoing ileostomy closure
