Gastrointestinal Anastomosis Workshop

Suitable for FY2 – ST2 trainees who have successfully completed a RCS Basic Surgical Skills course.

This one day workshop provides exposure to the theoretical principles and practical techniques of gastrointestinal anastomosis. It gives an opportunity to perform a variety of surgical procedures on tissue models with modern anastomotic technologies under the guidance of Consultant Surgeons, with a high trainer to trainee ratio. It then places these techniques within the context of surgical practice and identifies clinical situations where a deeper knowledge of these relevant aspects leads to improved peri-operative care.
