She is a champion for transparent, research-driven and patient-focused care for all patients, and in particular our pelvic floor patients that often have devastating quality of life conditions. Her passion, dedication and commitment to the specialty is evident and highlighted further in her appointment as Chair of the Pelvic Floor Society. She invests considerable time to research and has supervised 5 successful MD/PhD projects. She has and will continue to inspire female surgeons of the future.
Karen Telford’s reputation precedes her, the ‘Queen of Pelvic Floor’. I have never met a Colorectal Surgeon so dedicated and comitted to helping her patients to the absolute maximum. It’s goes without saying that people travel from near and far for the opportunity to be seen and treated by Karen. Not only is she an excellent surgeon, but Karen is an inspirational trainer. Her in depth knowledge of the pelvic floor, plus her ability to repair or reconstruct it, never ceases to amaze me. What a woman and what an influential colorectal surgeon!
