Ann has been a leader in colorectal surgery, serving as program director for the University of Minnesota training program, member of the Residency Review Committee and American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, President of CRSAL, one of the largest groups of colorectal surgeons globally, and President of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
She has broken many glass ceilings and is a role model to many women and men in the specialty.
She has trained hundreds of colorectal surgeons who would highlight their engagement with Professor Lowry as foundational to their development as Colorectal Surgeons.
